I am making a oak panel wall. please help me figure out how to space the 1×4’s.
PLEASE REMEMBER I have a 1×4 already on each end of the walls. i have 4 walls . Each 1×4 is 3 1/2 inches wide.
Wall 1 is 185 inches
Wall 2 is 93 inches
Wall 3 is 69 inches
Wall 4 is 49 1/2 inches
The measurement is the width of the wall. I have a 1×4 already on each end of each wall nailed . now i need to space the rest of the 1×4’s which are 3 1/2 inches.
I have to space each board an equal distance from each other. i am going to put the 1×4’s on there then cove the center out to make a square. i have to have equal looking squares. keep in mind the walls are different lengths. thanks

This is a simple math problem but you didn’t tell us how many 1 by 4’s you want spaced or are using.
If you want say wall 1 divided by say 3 other boards take the distance as you are measuring it and subtract the width of the 3 boards to go. That would be 3 times 3 1/2 equals 10 1/2 then take remainder and divide by think how many spaces are there using 3 boards? There would be 4 spaces so divide it by 4. Pencil it on the wall to double check and have at it the same way on rest.
