Today is the 4th anniversary of my mothers death, she was adopted at birth and then died at the young age of 37. now that i am in my mid 20’s im beginning to wonder what kind of health risk to expect from my moms side of the family, or what our nationality is, you know just basic questions. I know my mom found her birth mom at one point in time but she did not keep in touch with her. i have virtually NO details on how to find her mom except that my mom was adopted jan ‘69 from Houston Tx. and her adopted parents names (they have both passed too). I dont exactly want a relationship with this women .. just some questions answered. Does anyone know what i can do to try and find her? Any advice is appreciated.

Try to get a hold of any information on how your mother previously found her mother that could help. Also, if you can find the exact place in Houston in which she was adopted you can try to get information from them if they have any.

Try looking up her adopted parent’s names on the internet or on a genealogy site. Just state the names you know and ask if anyone has information about those names. Try to contact the adoption agency in that city and give as much information as you have and see if they can help you.
