35 Weeks Pregnant With Pains, What Could This Be?

By admin Posted in: sex position

So last night i started having some bloating and period cramps along with some braxton hicks. I also had a brown discharge before i went to bed. This morning i woke up and my discharge was still brown but lighter, and this afternoon its like a tan. I had a few errands i had to run and i found it very hard to walk! There was soooooo much pain in my pelvic and back area. The only thing that helps is sitting down, but i still feel pressure. I wasn’t sure if my discharge was from the pain im having, or maybe the fact that i just got over a yeast infection. I called my help nurse and she has me lying down drinking water and having tylenol for a few hours. but so far the pain hasn’t gotten better. i found a new position to sit in that helps elevate the pressure, but when i get up the pain rushes back and its soooo unbearable!
I haven’t moved anything heavy, and i haven’t had sex or a vaginal exam in a while. The baby is moving still, and i believe ive already dropped, or at least dropped partially.
were in the middle of a hurricane warning here and i know it will be difficult to go to my obgyn, i might just be scared, but want to know everyones thoughts.
thanks!

Honestly, I think that with the hurricane warning the safest place to be right now is at a hospital if you are not feeling well. If I were you I would grab my bag and head to the nearest hospital…but that’s just me.

To calm you down, I don’t think you are in labour. I had similar symptoms to you when I was around 34 weeks pregnant, and didn’t have my son until 5 weeks later. The brown discharge is likely to be your ‘mucus plug’ which basically comes out when your babys head drops down, getting ready for labour. Your back pain is probably due to your baby’s position, they find the most awkward one and lie there!
If you get any clear or pinkish fluid, I’d get to the hospital as quick as possible. You will know when labour starts, it gets a whole lot worse, believe me!
If you do go into labour, rest assured that your baby will be fine, he/she sounds like a heavy lump!
Best of luck to you xxxxx
